Splott StreetGames 2011

Street Games held another one of their events (endorsed by CocaCola) in Cardiff’s very own Splott.  Taking place at the Leisure Center, there were a variety of activities including basketball, rock climbing (run by Boulders of Cardiff) as well as football skills and more.

Craig , Rhidian and Frazer were on hand to deliver some workshops and jam around. The weather wasn’t on our side, but it was a great day and paved a good start to some upcoming sessions in Splott S.T.A.R center that Frazer is running.

Manchester Science Festival - Science Junkies

Jake, Craig and Frazer traveled to Manchester to work at the Manchester Science Festival  on Friday 28th. Alongside the Science Junkies team, and seriously pro trials bike rider Andrei Burton.

We have worked with the legendary Science Junkies many times before, but this time the aim was to create a fully live version of the existing show, with a full rig, that can be toured across the UK in a variety of theatres etc.  The show was extremely well received and has alot of promise, watch this space.

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby - Sophia Gardens

The GBWR world champs took place in Sophia Gardens between the 5th and 8th of September, and Fluidity were invited by Sophia Gardens and Gymnation to do a half time performance for the event. This was with Frazer, Rhid and Craig who choreographed a short exciting piece between matches.

Although we didnt do all of the shows due to timing issues, it was a great experience and we made FULL use of the prestige gymnastics gym. Great stuff.

Greenman 2011

This year Fluidity were invited to Greenman 2011, to perform and provide a series of workshops. After last years amazingly good time we didn’t hesitate to take on this challenge.

With over 300 spectators in the searing sun, our performances and challenges went down a treat and we were rated very highly by “Einsteins Garden” (the part of the festival we were involved with. (@einsteinsgarden)

With over 50 energetic festival going kids each workshops, we spent hours teaching the basics of freerunning, as well as having a great time jamming.

An amazing festival, with brilliant vibes, we hope to be back next year with a full set of equipment and more good weather. Check out some of our photos we attained below.

Forest Of Dean - Friday Night Project

Craig and Frazer went to run a full workshop/taster session in Whitcross Sports Center, Forest Of Dean. This “Friday Night Project” had well over 115 young teens (and apparently this was a quiet night) , in and out of the center to take part in a number of activities.

Frazer and Craig delivered a successful 1 and a half hour session teaching the ins and outs of freerunning. Incredibly well received , and hoping to do further work in the future for this lovely community group!

Sports Accelerate - Gymnation

Through Gymnation , Fluidity were invited to coach a freerunning session in the prestigious gymnasium at Sophia Gardens for the Sports Accelerate programme. This had talented kids come from across the region to try out a number of sports over a day.

After delivering several short sessions, there was a demand for more and kids flocked back to jam in the gym with us. Check out the news edit of the event below.

Penygraig Workshops

In Penygraig town Bike Club , we provided a large workshop session for the community present. We had around 50 kids, pouring rain and no venue, but we still managed to have a great outside session teaching the basics and drilling some challenges.

This was so popular that we were later asked to come back to provide a series of workshops to the community through August. A great success, and looking to do more in the future!

Beach Break Live 2011

Fluidity were invited to perform at Beach Break Live, the UK’s largest Student only festival based in the gorgeous beach of Swansea , Pembrey.

Fluidity were originally invited to do workshops and performances, but this later changed to doing some tricking sessions and jams.  With massive audiences and loads of photographers (especially on the last night with the “Into The Wild” theme, Beach Break was one of the funnest festivals we have done yet, and next year is looking to shape up as even better!

Check out the gallery in the media section, and here are some of the pics!

Sophia Gardens Sports Conference 2011

Fluidity were invited along to Sophia Gardens (home of welsh sport) , to an expo where different sports meet together and discuss the development of local governing bodies, events and welsh sports and help to pave the way forward.

We did a short  but sweet performance in a half time interval before talking about ourselves and our goals for the future. Very well received, and helping to breach the border between sports governing bodies and freerunning!
